BIRMINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL: SPORT LIGHTING RETROFIT

The football stadium lighting at Birmingham High was inefficient and posed visual difficulties for the student-athletes and coaches. The school administration needed an experienced service provider to replace the current 1000W metal halide lighting system with a more modern design that would reduce energy usage and provide flexibility.

Green Econome provided a photometric analysis of the existing football field lighting to reveal numerous blind spots across the field and track. A new photometric scheme addressed the blind spots and provided higher foot candles to meet the recommendations for high school sports fields. Green Econome removed (80) existing fixtures and replaced them with (64) new Ephesus 750W All-Field luminaires with dimming capability and total control over each fixture.
